Anne met John at a party while getting some beer from the keg. They begin talking, and John offers Anne a ride home because she is intoxicated and cannot drive. Anne passes out on John’s bed. Anne wakes up, not remembering most of the night, but she is in bed with John at his house. Anne asks John if they had sex, and he says yes.

Chris and Jacob have been seeing each other casually for three months. Jacob has Chris over for dinner and they begin kissing on Jacob’s couch. Jacob and Chris decide together that they want to have sex. Chris removes his pants and starts to remove Jacob’s pants. Jacob then asks him to stop because he is feeling uncomfortable and does not want to have sex anymore.

Think again. Anne was passed out. She cannot give consent if she is unconscious!
You are correct! An individual cannot consent to sex if he/she is unconscious.
Think again. Jacob did want to have sex, but when Chris began removing his pants, he asked him to stop.
You are correct! Jacob did say he wanted to have sex, but later revoked consent. Consent can be withdrawn at any time, and this should be respected by his partner.
